Mars One aims to send people to Mars, to live, permanently, by 2023. Anybody over the age of 18 can apply to become one of their astronauts. Applicants will undergo a screening process (which includes a reality tv show affair to help fund the project, and that affair will continue on the red planet), and those chosen will train for eight years after that. A lot of people, including me, are skeptical that the project will be successful, but their ideas are interesting. Check out their website and their plans.
I got this picture from the Mars One Facebook page. They’re having fans vote for their favorite banner. This is one of my favorites.
